The school gates are opened from 8:45am

The playground gates are opened at 8.45 am by the Senior Leadership Team, when the children walk round to their classrooms. A member of the Senior Leadership Team is always on hand to hear the children’s news, or if parents need an informal discussion, or to take an urgent message for the class teacher.

opportunity to settle

The children go straight through to their classrooms via the cloakrooms. Early Morning Tasks are available in each classroom, giving the children an opportunity to settle to an activity straight away, stimulating their thoughts and questions. The class teacher also uses this time to talk with each child as they arrive, and to ensure their needs are met.

At 8.55 am the Playground Gates are locked, and Registers are taken in the classrooms. This is also the time when the children make their lunch choices.
